Welcome From Your Virtual Teacher's Aide

BIENVENUE teachers and students in Pointe Coupée !

Welcome to the pilot program for the Pointe Coupée Parish History project. You are part of a very valuable TEST DRIVE TEAM for a unique website about Pointe Coupée Parish history, yesterday and today. This website was developed as an educational resource for you to learn about Pointe Coupée. The website is full of documented history about Pointe Coupée , showing its importance in Louisiana, U.S., and international history. Other features allow you to interact and participate while learning about your parish.

We have created a special section for you and your teachers in the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM. There you will have a place to go for useful resources, a chance to include your comments and chat with your classmates, teachers and experts; a place to include your projects and research findings; a place for activities, quizzes, and surveys; and, a place to create your own class pages. For this pilot program, we have featured the theme of the Louisiana Purchase:1803-1815. You will hear the voices of people from your community and descendants of your community, as they read from the text as historical characters speaking in English and French. And, we have fun activities for you to do while you learn about your parish during the Louisiana Purchase.
